Dr. William Detar is an otolaryngologist specializing in comprehensive ear, nose, and throat care with advanced surgical expertise. He earned his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Des Moines University, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class in 2019.

He completed his internship at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium from 2019–2020, followed by residency training in Otolaryngology / Head & Neck Surgery at the same institution from 2020–2024. Dr. Detar is an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery.

Raised in a military family, Dr. Detar experienced frequent relocations across the United States during his childhood. After graduating high school in Illinois, he attended the University of Nevada, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience with Highest Honors. Following college, he spent a gap year traveling, completing a cross-country bike trip, teaching English, and working on a coffee farm in Colombia.

After completing his residency, Dr. Detar was stationed at the United States Air Force Academy, where he served as Otolaryngology Medical Director. His surgical interests include comprehensive ENT care with a focus on sleep surgery, rhinology, head and neck oncology, and facial aesthetic surgery. He values a holistic approach to medicine and prioritizes building strong, collaborative relationships with his patients to support their long-term health goals.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Detar enjoys spending time with his family and participating in outdoor activities including hiking, biking, triathlons, and fishing.
